We seek ladies of high morals and standards, who are committed to making a difference in their communities and making life-long friendships. If you are interested in becoming a Señorita of Sigma Lambda Alpha contact our Pledge Director Iris Reyes.
To be considered for active membership/pledge ship, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
• A Complete application that has been signed and turned in to the executive board or pledge director
• A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. If the prospective member is a first-time student of college/university, her grade point average from her graduating high school will be considered. If the prospective member is a transfer student, the GPA from previous college/university attended will be considered
• The prospective member must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) or part-time (6 credit hours) for undergraduate. If the prospective member is a graduate student, she must be enrolled full-time (9 credit hours) or part-time (6 credit hours)
• A satisfactory interview conducted by the executive board as defined in the Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. Handbook
• Successful completion of her pledge semester, which includes the following:
Pledge must attend all pledge meetings
Pledge must complete a pledge community service project in addition to her required community hours set by the chapter
Pledge must maintain a 2.5 grade point average and meet study hours set by the Beta chapter
Pledge must pay membership dues per semester
